In 2018 Mass Literacy, a nonprofit that supports literacy education selected Seeds of a Father founder/CEO Kevin Anthony Green as a Mass Literacy Champion. Mass Literacy is a nonprofit organization that supports literacy development throughout the state of Massachusetts and annually recognizes educators, librarians and community leaders for their commitment in literacy development.
Seeds of a Father, a 501c3 nonprofit organization which is dedicated to the overall well-being and enrichment of father-child relational development is operating in its seventh year. Green has developed a literacy initiative entitled the "I READ initiative" to encourage fathers to be educational advocates and literacy mentors in the lives of youth and families. Seeds of a Father has partnered with public schools, colleges, libraries and community centers to bring about social change, increase literacy and improve the lives of children.
In keeping up with their mission of providing innovative practices to encourage literacy development while remaining COVID safe, Seeds of a Father has chosen to call on champion hip-hop lyrist Kevin "MullyMan" Muldrow to assist them in kicking off their book club series taken place via zoom in November.
MullyMan will read the book 'The Roots of Rap" 16 Bars on the 4 Pillars of Hip-Hop by Carole Boston Weatherford, share in story telling and engage the audience with his talent. MullyMan was born in Baltimore, Maryland now resides in Atlanta, Georgia and was Bmore's most nationally recognized hip hop artist. MullyMan's video "I Go Harder" was featured on MTV JAMS, MTV2, and Music Choice. MullyMan was also featured on MTV JAMS "Hood Fab" segment "D.C. Vs. Baltimore" edition were he competed against current hip-hop star Wale. MullyMan was also interviewed by Angela Yee currently of the Breakfast Club during that time period.
MullyMan along with his sister NikStylz who is also a champion hip-hop lyrist are currently in the mastering stage of producing their up and coming album presented by MicBroSis entitled GODSPEED. These Bmore natives are sure to have you singing along with them in songs entitled "Big Truss" The Baltimore Ravens Anthem, "Simmer Down" and "Get Out My Way." Take a listen.
